on monday a 48-year-old man died after beeing hit on the BR-104 located near the village Lajes in rural Caruaru .

According to preliminary information, the victim was cycling and returning from a friend's house where he spent the afternoon drinking when he was surprised by a S-10 pickup. According to information from the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the victim would have invaded the opposite direction while trying to cross the highway when he was hit by the vehicle.

The driver fled on foot Ricardo's body was collected and sent to the Institute of Legal Medicine (IML) in Caruaru.
