This female hippo died at National Zoo in Washington D.C. in 2006. Her cause of death was the brain tumour as seen in the last picture.

Animals have necropsies

An autopsy is done to determine the cause of death in a member of the species performing the autopsy.

A necropsy is when it's done on a member of a species not belonging to the species of the conductor of the procedure.

There are differences in how they're accomplished when the species is significantly different from a human.
