High Drama Hostage Taking
On the morning of 26 October 2009, a man took his girlfriend and her mother hostage after the mother objected to their relationship. He fled with them to the fields behind the house after the police were alerted. He proceeded to stab the mother 7 times in the chest and threatened to turn the knife on the gf unless she cooperate. Police had him surrounded by then. Using her as a bargaining chip, he demanded a getaway car and for the police to clear the scene within 10 mins. They were obviously not amused. The police field commander gave the order to shoot and kill. Pics below show the team moving in. Their tactic was to distract the subject by offering him a shirt and throwing it just out of his reach so the sniper could have a clear shot. It obviously worked. Last pic shows gf led away shaken but unharmed. Didn't know whether mum made it. Took place in Chongqing, China.
