Yeah, i'd say IED did this. Hellfire has 8 - 10 kg warhead, it would have torn that car to tinfoil.

My guess is 40mm chain gun from an Apache or A-10 Aardvark (these could be old Desert Storm I photos). First, this is an insurgent (civilian car/clothing and AK-47s all over), or Saddam's people fleeing Kuwait; and they are not the target for IEDs. Also, shrapnel is coming all in from front to back.

If it is a Hellfire, it struck about 5 cars in front... all the holes in the sheet metal are pieces of the passengers from the first two.

Woops, just noticed the concertina wire in photos 1 and 3. This is the result of a Mark 19 hit as this car approached a US checkpoint. Would bet a Pepsi on that.
