Hans Hernán Pozo Vergara Murder and Dismemberment in Santiago, Chile, 2006
Hans Hernán Pozo Vergara, 20, was murdered and dismembered in Santiago, Chile, in March 2006. His remains were recovered piecemeal from public places over the following week. A foot was found on March 27, followed by his head on March 28, arms on March 29, another foot on March 30, his hands on April 2 and his torso on April 3. Most of the remains were found in Puente Alto, while the torso was recovered in San Bernardo. Prosecutors later identified Jorge Iván Martínez Arévalo, 41, as the person who ordered the killing. Martínez Arévalo, an ice-cream parlour owner and La Pintana municipal official, shot himself in the head on April 8 as Carabineros arrived to question him. He was never tried or convicted. Prosecutors named him as the intellectual author in 2007, and the case was closed in 2013.

What have they done to his face? Bit of disfigurement with knife and one serious beating beforehand it seems. What a world!
