Death by strangulation is no quick or easy process. It often takes minutes for the victim to go unconscious and it can be painful, terrifying, and violent. Both consciously and subconsciously, the victim will thrash and fight and struggle against the agonies of slow strangulation. Lot of intense and sometimes frenzied movements in those final minutes.

In this case, I think her pants were just a size or two too small for her ample ass and her energetic struggles against the specter of death tightening around her throat put too much pressure on some already-stretched seams.

Asphyxiation victims will often piss and shit all over themselves in the final struggles. At least she seems to have been spared that indignity, which would have been a horror show indeed with the ass of her pants blown out that way.

I think it just looks odd because her shorts are pulled down below her hips. The angle isn't great, but if you look at the length of her torso it becomes apparent that those shorts are hanging way lower than intended. The urine stain on her underpants is right where it usually is in a hanging like this, but it just looks oddly placed because the shorts are so far down.

And yet it normally takes about 15 seconds to pass out when hanged? Hmm..
