I'd be more interested than shocked when I see this but most likely the stench will be repulsive. This is interesting because the body is bloated but does not have significant blisters yet. Also, if suicidal people could see that they could look like this if they do their deed, would they still continue? |

If they were in the right frame of mind, yes I don't doubt they would be deterred from such a death. But, sadly, they're at their lowest point + do not think straight, so it probably doesn't even cross their minds.

30 year old radio DJ in Indonesia hanged herself on the second floor of a village house where she was staying on vacation. Her body was discovered by two workers at a tree nursery adjacent to the property. They reported to the police that they heard a crash and a series of loud banging/thumping noises, but that the sound stopped after a few moments so they did not investigate. It was not until a bit later that they realized they had not seen the decedent moving around in or about the house, so they went to check on her and found her dead. The investigative report from the scene stated that the 30 year old woman was found partially suspended from a thick, blue nylon rope. She was wearing a blue t-shirt and denim jeans. Her sandals were nearby, but she was barefoot when discovered, with one foot on the floor and the other propped behind her on the chair she presumably used to step off of. The investigators' visual examination reported that there were no injuries associated with external violence on her body aside from the ligature bruising on her neck. Her glasses were knocked partially off of her face, but it is presumed that this happened when she was thrashing in the throes of asphyxiation. The report also noted that her tongue was protruding past her lips, her jeans were wet with urine, and feces were found in her underpants. She did not leave a suicide note, but several of her friends said she was depressed about recently finding out that her boyfriend had cheated on her.
