Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
Watermarked video she sent to her mother before hanging herself. The blood on her arms and face was allegedly due to self-harm immediately before the hanging.

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
This was sent to me by an occasional contributor who helps do research on some of the cases I am trying to run down. 18 year old Pallavi, the daughter of a well-known private doctor in Tejgarh, hanged herself in her home this past week. She waited until her father was giving a lecture at a college nearby and the house was empty and then hanged herself with a dupatta. No reason was given for the suicide, though it was mentioned that she had recently taken a major exam, the results for which were not yet posted, that was giving her anxiety. Her grade records were impeccable, so her family was surprised if she killed herself over a perceived failure, but who knows. The news article indicated that she set up her mobile phone and recorded her hanging, but it was unclear whether the video was streamed live somewhere or merely recorded. The police confiscated the phone and have not remarked further. My source was unable to find a video and I had no luck either. Nor could either of us locate an antemortem image. We have an image of her hanging with her feet above the floor in full suspension and two photos of her after her corpse was cut down: a close-up of her upper body and a slightly panned out shot of her lower body. There is also a short news video of her body being transported, but it gives no additional info and little can actually be seen in it. Unlike many cases in this area, her family has not posited the idea that she was murdered and seem to be accepting it as a suicide. Maybe she recorded a note in the video or perhaps her father is simply educated enough to recognize all of the classic signs of a suicidal hanging when he sees them. She certainly exhibits most of them. |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
AnonymousPH sent me a bunch of hanging women cases from around Asia, so I am posting them on their behalf. To start with, two cases from Cambodia. First six images May 2018, Pursat province, Cambodia. A 60-year-old woman, Dy Moun, hanged herself from a mango tree. According to her husband, Dy suffered from both mental health issues and chronic illness. One day before she was found, Dy had been taken by her husband to a hospital, where she received a serum injection and was prescribed medicine to take. The last image was posted by a Cambodian Facebook account in June 2025, but I couldn't find any info - the text was simply a message of condolence. |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
Now for a few cases from Laos. In June 2016, the decomposing body of an unidentified woman was found hanging in a school in the capital, Vientiane. In Khammouane province, in March 2018, a woman hanged herself from a staircase railing. In December 2019, an 18-year-old student, Ms. Pai Vang, hanged herself in Attapeu province. However, Laos, much like Thailand, censors the majority of their content. For instance, this case from June 2016, in which a woman, whose identity was not publicly released, was found to have hanged herself from a window frame. The deceased was a divorcee, and had one child with her ex-husband. On the day of the incident, she had an argument with her new partner in an attempt to resolve their issues. Her new partner then returned to his own house. Since the woman had had these outbursts before, her new partner assumed she would calm down, and went to visit her the following day, but received no response when he knocked. When he found out his partner hadn't arrived at work, he called the landlady, who forced open a back window, where they found the woman. Censorship isn't too heavy, but still a bit vexing. |

Re: *Hanged Women Thread* (NEW)
Now for some old cases from Thailand. Again, thanks to AnonymousPH for some of these. In September 2017, in Nakhon Ratchasima, 34-year-old Wanida Sriyangnok hanged herself from a room beam. In August 2015, in Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, 41-year-old Janyaporn Takeshima hanged herself in her house. In June 2013, in Chonburi, a 22-year-old woman hanged herself. In December 2013, in Phuket(?), a 44-year-old South Korean woman, apparently feeling neglected by her husband, hanged herself. |
