The woman asked for around 80 million dong (around US$3,000) in compensation, but the parlour also refused, so she hanged herself in a hotel room.

Teenage girl in Indonesia hanged herself over some weird dispute about a new motor scooter.

According to the family, the girl had been complaining for a while that she needed a working motorbike to get to school and back. Her parents refused to buy her one and told her she could walk.

So last week, she had breakfast with her family and then went to get ready for school, changing into her uniform. On her way out the door her mother made her wash up the breakfast dishes. By the time she was done, the girl complained that she was already late for school and that it wasn't worth going because she would just get a failing grade for the first period and spend the day in detention. So she changed back into her regular clothes and went into her room.

About two hours later, her brother went looking for her and she wasn't in her room, but the window was open. He went around back to find her and discovered that she had hanged herself from a guava tree. He called for help, but she was long dead by the time they got her down.

The family refused a full autopsy, but the police did an investigation of the scene and a visual inspection of the corpse. There was no suicide note, but they noted in the report that her body had many signs common to death by hanging.

1. No injuries aside form the ligature mark, which matched the red cord she used as a noose.
2. Her eyes were 'open and staring.'
3. Her hands were clenched.
4. Her feet had begun to display livor mortis.
5. Rigor mortis was beginning to set, but not fixed.
6. Her pants were soiled with urine and feces.

Obviously, many of those indicators are not exclusive to hanging suicides, but Indonesian cops and DSI techs have oddly specific criteria.

No hanging photos, as she was cut down immediately. Photos and vids include antemortems, her brother showing the police where he found her, cut downs immediately after the hanging, cut downs after her body was washed and prepped for burial.

21 year old Marshana (dba Adhee Beby) was found hanged to death in the home of her fiance, with whom she was supposed to join in marriage next month.

An investigation is ongoing due to some of the circumstances surrounding the death. No one who knew her had any idea why she would hang herself. By all accounts, she was excited about the upcoming marriage. She had a robust social media following and ran a successful business selling clothing online. Her business was doing well and she was allegedly happy with it.

No note was left at the scene.

The police stated in their report that it was being treated as a likely suicide, but an investigation was ongoing to interview neighbors, her family, and her fiance.

Her body was discovered by a neighbor who walked past the house and saw her through the window, hanging in the living room. The fiance was at work at the time.

According to the neighbor, the door was unlocked so he called for help and went in to try to save her.

He said in his statement that her tongue was already out, that her nose was bleeding slightly, and she had pissed herself by the time they were cutting her down, so they assumed the was already dead and called the police. A chair was found kicked over beside her.

The photos do show that there is some blood under her nose, as well as wet stains on her skirt and a puddle of urine on the floor next to where they cut her body down. I don't see any tongue protrusion, but often times simply moving the body to a prone position will cause a swollen tongue shift back into the mouth.

The police report corroborated all of the above findings, adding that the visual inspection showed no injuries other than the ligature mark. Her family, somewhat suspicious of the circumstances, did agree to an autopsy, however. Results are pending.

Probably a suicide regardless, but sometimes you just never know. Will post updates if there are any.
