22 year old woman in Indonesia was discovered by her mother, hanging in her kitchen. They had eaten brunch together and then the mother left and returned around 4:30pm only to find her daughter dead. A note was left, indicating that it was largely due to problems with her boyfriend.

The police and medical team estimated she'd been dead between 2 and 4 hours when discovered.

Based on the scene, the visual examination of the body, and the note, the death was ruled a suicide by hanging.

Karawang police and the medical team notes indicated that she had used a yellow rope and the small green vinyl stool seen in the images in order to asphyxiate herself.

The report stated that she had several physical characteristics of hanging. The visum team observed and recorded:
1.Her tongue was swollen, bitten, and protruding.
2. Mucus was observed dripping from her nose and saliva was dribbled on her shirt.
3. The ligature mark on her neck matched the dimensions of the rope.
4. Her hands were clenched with some livor mortis present.
5. Livor mortis was observed by not fully fixed in her legs.
6. Her genitals were 'wet', which typically(thought not expressly in this case) refers to urine.
7. Her anus and underpants were soiled with feces.
8. No indications of violence were observed aside from the ligature mark and the biting of her tongue.

She hanged herself after writing a goodbye letter. Some say she's the same girl that was violently pulled from a discothèque/nightclub by her parents some time ago.

This is an old case that I recently found. A Filipino woman who hanged herself due to personal problems

Student failed to show up for final exams this morning and was discovered hanging in her home when her brother went to look for her after the school called.

According to reports from the school she was a model student and got along well with her classmates. Her parents frequently traveled for work and were out of town when she was found dead.

No note was left at the scene. The family refused a formal autopsy, but forensic personnel conducted the customary 'visual exam' after removing her from the noose.

Notes were as follows:
Noose used was a headscarf (hijab) tied to a windowframe.

She had presumably used the nearby bed to step off of, as she was in full suspension with both feet off the floor but no other objects nearby she could have used to stand on and kick free.

Based on livor and rigor mortis, she was estimated to have been dead between 3 and 5 hours when found.

No signs of violence were found on the body aside from the ligature mark from the hijab and some blood inside her mouth, which was the result of her biting down on her tongue during asphyxia.

Her trousers were found to be damp with urine and the presence of feces was noted in her underpants, both common signs of hanging deaths.

Forensic personnel also noted that she appeared to be several months pregnant, based on her abdomen. This was not verified as no autopsy was conducted. Police interviews with her family and several of her friends from school said that she had never spoken of being pregnant and that if she was, she must have been keeping it secret.


Most of the photos are largely uncensored. Because no autopsy was ordered, the full visual exam was conducted at the scene (which is common in Indonesia). This part of the scene is always photographed but rarely included in news articles, as it typically involves undressing the deceased to do a thorough examination.

For whatever reason, the news articles on this case did include several images of the deceased being undressed and examined on the floor, but they obviously chose to censor them. I'm including them for completion sake.

Happened somewhere in Brazil - I don't know where, exactly. Apparently, this woman was in severe debt and had no money to pay off loans she had taken from several people.

25 year old woman in Indonesia hanged herself in her kitchen and was discovered in the morning by her husband.

He called for the neighbors to come and help cut her down, but she was already dead.

Police and rescue workers arrived at the scene to document evidence and interview witnesses. The husband was very distraught and stated that they hadn't been fighting and he had no idea what was wrong with her. She did not leave a note. Neighbors corroborated that the couple seemed happy and did not cause a lot of drama.

The scene notes reported to the press indicated that she had hanged herself in the kitchen with a sarong. There were no signs of a struggle and the only injuries on her body were consistent with the ligature marks of the noose. Her tongue was bitten but not protruding and the full visual physical exam showed that she had been incontinent of both bladder and bowels while dying.

The case is not fully concluded yet and an autopsy may be pending, but for now police are treating it as a likely suicide.

EDIT May have found a news article on this (right location). If so, the hanger was a 19-year-old, Tahmina A. None of her family members could come up with a reason for her suicide. She had married two months previously.
