Residents of Kapalo Koto Street Number 48 Pauh, Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Tuesday (3/9 / 2019), were in an uproar after a girl named Meysi Awlia (19), a student majoring in State Administration at Andalas University (Unand), ended her life by hanging. It is suspected that the victim did the action in the morning after her roommate left for college and the room was quiet. Victims who failed to go to class instead tied her favorite black hijab on the trellis window and hanged herelf to death. The victim, who was a semester III student of class 2018 from Jambi, was suspected to be stressed by her academic problems and lack of continuing tuition funds.

Her body was discovered by her roommate, named Intan (19). As she was entering his room at 17.00, she smelled the smell of human excrement from the room. At first she worried that Meysi may have been ill inside, but could not see her as the room was dark. The witness was suspicious and immediately turned on the lights. The witness was shocked and shouted for help when she opened the door to see the victim in a hanging state with a black headscarf hung on the iron window. When found the victim was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts. Her tongue was bitten, her nose bled, and there was urine and feces in her shorts and on the carpet beneath. Her legs have been folded because the cloth used by the victim for the suicide device has been loosened, there are piles of pillows around which the victim allegedly used as a footing to tie the cloth, said officer Yuni Fitria (36), Tuesday (3/9/2019) .They went on to report the incident to the head of the local RT and return it to the police. Not long after, officers came to the scene and found no sign of violence. After agreeing, the victim's body went to the Bhayangkara Regional Police Hospital in West Sumatra.

Meysi Awlia was known to often complain to her roommate named Intan. She often complained about her studies and she often cries when she tells, "she said. She said that victim often cried when contacting her family via cell phone. For all those who are constantely asking why someone can hang himself/herself by just bending knees or other positions, where it would be easy to 'just stand up' and survive:

1) Ligature strangulation of the neck causes rapid loss of consciousness due to obliteration of arterial blood vessels (which normally provide oxygen to the brain).

2) If unconscious, body weight continues strangulation - resulting in death by hanging when brain is irreversible damaged by the depriviation of oxygen.

3) No action of self-saving is possible once unconscious (also reason for so called 'accidents')

In saying that you need to really commit to die like this, your body fights it and if the placement of the noose is wrong it means readjusting it until it forces you to become unconscious.
