Very typical side effect in all kinds of deaths,particularly those that are sudden or violent. Because of nerve and blood vessel constriction that goes along with hanging/strangulation, loss of control of the bladder (and often the bowels) is especially common in these types of deaths.

They all seem to be pretty young girls, living in places where they have no hope of getting married. If the govt made it a little easier for a guy to bring one over here to the U.S, or other prosperous country to marry, there would be hope for them finding someone on the internet. Wow are these girls cute!

This is true only to a certain extent. In actuality, less than 15% of decedents lose bladder or bowel control at the moment of death (at least according to a study done by two MEs for Forensics Science International in 1981). It is actually rather uncommon in peaceful, non-painful deaths. As a counterpoint, when their study shifted to the autopsy data for victims of suicidal hanging and violent strangulation, that number escalated to over 70%.

It can and does happen with all different methods of death, but it appears to be more frequent than it actually is when you're browsing a site like this because most of the deaths featured on Documenting Reality (and especially this thread) are either violent, painful, terrifying, or involve asphyxiation. As a result, you'll see more photos of people with peed-in pants on this website when, in actuality, far greater numbers of people are having quiet, boring, 'clean' deaths in their beds that never get photographed and posted up on gore or reality sites.

But yes, if you're being violently stabbed to death, shot down execution style in an empty field, or choking to death at the end of a belt in your closet, you're liable to check out with some very messy underpants.
