Press accounts said at least six bullets struck her, though her family gave a higher number. The government claimed protesters were responsible, while her family and rights groups attribute the gunfire to security forces. Her death certificate listed military equipment as the cause of death. In general (Western culture), makeup artistry, as an interest, goes to "extremes" to kind of highlight certain aspects. More time, effort -> more likely to take a pic and post, as opposed to their normal "light" makeup. These kind of over the top examples are prominently displayed by makeup influencers.

In conservative Muslim culture, where you are mostly covered/hijab/etc. and it's hard to freely express via clothes, it's easiest to express yourself and individuality via makeup, highly influenced by the heavier "illustrative" examples they see from makeup influencers.
