Guy With Mental Problems Murdered Old Man

On Tuesday 2nd December in the city of Campo Maior, Brazil, the body of an elderly man aged 75 was found in the backyard of his home.

He had deep lacerations and puncture wounds all over his body and a wound to the neck which almost severed his head. Family believe he was killed by a machete or an axe, but no weapon was found at the scene.

According to the victim's daughter, her father lived alone in the house and took care of animals.

At the site the victim's footwear and various marks on the ground were found suggesting a struggle between the killer and the victim before the crime.

The civil police investigation team was on site collecting evidence and began their investigation. They arrested the suspect hours later near the crime scene. He was homeless and not carrying any documents.

He man still had a t-shirt and cap on with traces of blood present. Police said the man, who appears to have mental disorders, was the last person to see the victim as he went to his house to ask for food and was given it.

The daughter of the victim said her father had a problem with a neighbour and threatened him with death in the past.
