Gunshot Wound - Carotid Artery
Texts From Source: Image 01 Left carotid angiogram showing bullet fragments and fractured mandible, with disruption of the carotid artery. Image 02 Lateral X-ray shows bullet fragments to face and upper neck area. Image 03 The injured area has been excised. The external carotid stump has been ligated, and the internal and common carotid arteries have clamps on them. Image 04 A reversed saphenous vein graft was then used to reestablish flow from the common carotid to the internal carotid artery. Image 05 Post-op view of sternocleidomastoid incision and mandibular bullet wound (debrided). Herb Phelan, Brian Eastridge, Parkland Memorial Hospital, Dallas, Texas -Hey Zeus Guevara- |
