All of these incidents happened this month.

1. In Petapilla, Chiquimula, the decomposed body of 38-year-old mason Santos J.R.R., who had went missing when he went to work on the 19th, was found in the 21st. It is believed that he was murdered via blows to the head with stones.






2. In a village near El Jicaro, El Progreso, two brothers - 55-year-old Alfredo A. and 50-year-old Melvin E.G.A. - were found shot dead in their car. The day before their deaths, they had attended the wake of a friend.

On the car's windshield was a piece of cardboard with a message written on it: "Keep putting up wire to steal motorbikes for parts!" Melvin was a mechanic, whilst Alfredo was a retired police officer.







3. In a village near Colomba Costa Cuca, Quetzaltenango, a woman, aged around 30 years old, was killed when, whilst riding her motorcycle, she was run over by a heavy transport vehicle.

4. In El Palmar, Chiquimula, the putrefied body of 32-year-old Adelso N.G. was found. The cause of death is not yet known, but Adelso was last seen by relatives driving a pick-up truck, which was not found at the scene.






5. In Santa Ana, El Petén, the charred bodies of two men, believed to have been burned alive, were found dumped.


6. In Santa Lucía, Zacapa, a decomposing body was found floating.


7. In El Morral, Chiquimula, the body of 49-year-old Rolando d.J.A.G. was found on the banks of the San José River, with his head having been split open.
