Saturday night, July 3rd, Chandrika and Arvid went to the elementary school of Nada Village and committed suicide. They tied a rope to an iron pipe at the entrance area and hanged themselves.

Some passersby on Sunday morning found the bodies and called the police. Meanwhile a large crowd of villagers gathered to watch the hanging bodies.

Their love-relationship wasn't accepted by their families, which is supposed to be the reason for this dramatic act.

Its not entirely clear why they hanged themselves at the school entrance, since both victims were no students anymore.

I would much rather find out which relatives don't approve, and then invite them out for drinks, and tie them all off to the pipes.

On a serious note, this is absolutely heartbreaking, and it moves me to tears—both of them extinguished, for no reason at all—as if there could ever be a reason—because of the primitive beliefs of their backward families.

I am thinking they might have been elementary school sweethearts, and that is why they chose that location—or, if not—just availability—given the high beams the other member referred to and provided the means of ending their life in this tragic and painful way.

It would stand to reason that people who are so dedicated to each other, that they should make a pact to commit suicide together—would *work* together to find a better solution to their predicament.

But who knows what kind of pressure such couples are under, in that shithole?

When this happens in some Arab countries, or Pakistan, et alia (more shitholes)—they get stoned, even if they don't want to die or commit suicide.

Seeing two people who were in love, breathing, not long ago, strung up like that—is absolutely sickening.

And the meaningless and uselessness of it.
