German Man, 19, Drowns While Snorkeling in Indonesia
A 19-year-old German tourist identified as T.A. drowned while snorkeling near Liukang Island in Indonesia. According to local sources, the incident occurred Monday September 17, 2018. The victim and his friends boarded a jolloro boat from Bara Beach to Goat Island. Upon arriving on the island, the victim with his friends K.S. and A.P. went down to the sea for snorkeling. Bulukumba Police Chief A.N.S. said after swimming for almost one hour, they then moved to Liukang Island. “They arrived at around 3:00 pm on Liukang Island and immediately asked to be escorted to Tanjung Liukang to snorkel” A.N.S. said. He added, after arriving at Tanjung Liukang, the victim started snorkeling and diving with K.S. for about 30 minutes before he was carried away by the current. K.S. revealed, “He had waved to ask for help, but the current was too swift and took him away.” His friends K.S. and A.P. immediately conducted a search before contacting residents for help. A search and rescue team arrived at the location, and with the help of locals, they found the victim’s lifeless body floating near Liukang Island at approximately 5:00 pm. “The victim was found floating in shallow water, maybe around five meters,” said one of the search and rescue team members. I can't believe he drowned when he had a snorkel! You can float face down for 3 days with one of those. He must not have known how to use it. Maybe he should have taken a Red Cross "Drownproofing" course. |

Op, the blood almost looks photo shopped off off his face in the photo that it's visible. You can clearly see the one with the scribble is has the bloody face. Also, you'd think this blood was just from being taken with the current and maybe hit on some hard surfaces under water or upon shore. But his body is unremarkable? No marks visible. Strange

How the fuck do you die from snorkeling? In warm water? I'm a certified freediver and can snorkel around for a month waiting for someone to find me if need be. He panicked and that was the beginning of the end for him unfortunately. If you're not a person that is 100% comfortable in the water, then you are at risk every time you go in. Simple as that. |
