At least today there are anti-harassment laws and lawsuits (I know, California is an exception to logic). Back in the 60's, not only was it tolerated, the school faculty sometimes got into it. Kids these days do NOT have it worse than we did back then.

If you research what happened, it was a mess all around. This King kid was a fruitloop who dressed like a girl and harassed other students, including the kid who shot him. I remember this. I totally agree. The King kid pushed things too far, with more than one other person. He did not deserve to die, but he really needed to learn about boundaries.
