Granted, but even so, ice wouldn't melt in a fashion that would allow the water to leak up like it is. The ice doesn't show signs of having refrozen around the blade, the guy's ears are still pink, the ice by his should that is thin is also dripping, still. Not to mention, I doubt that he would have managed to keep in a perfect upwards cut in the event he was frozen in place... Where the water is around his shoulders is also kind of ripely showing movement to cause displacement. I may be wrong, this just seems like he most likely was alive, and may very well have lived... I'll admit, however, that I am still kind of very new at this.

I personally do not think he is dead. The ice is clearly not that cold as is very thin and the bodys muscles would relax if he had died of the cold before they got to freezing point whereas the muscles in his fore head are clearly contracted and his eyebrows raised. Unless its a scene from The Day After Tomorrow I'd hazard a guess hes alive
