Frozen American Woman
In case anyone wasn't aware, there has been a massive cold snap in the States this year, and many homeless individuals have died. She's one of them. Body was found huddled in a steel boxcar at a train yard in Utah. COD was 'exposure' which makes it difficult to determine the exact date of her death. Body was found 1/14/2014, but she could have been dead for several days ( 'An apparent self-protective behavior known as terminal burrowing, or hide-and-die syndrome, occurs in the final stages of hypothermia. The afflicted will enter small, enclosed spaces, such as underneath beds or behind wardrobes. It is often associated with paradoxical undressing. Researchers in Germany claim this is "obviously an autonomous process of the brain stem, which is triggered in the final state of hypothermia and produces a primitive and burrowing-like behavior of protection, as seen in hibernating animals." What an awful way to go |

Re: Frozen American Woman
We have below zero temperature here most days in winter, but i guess you get used to living a certain way, and if you're not used to those sorts of temperature you're not going to deal with it too good. As the photo shows. |
