Re: Frozen Alive
Those are the mummified remains of 25 year old John Hartnell who died 1/4/1846 as part of the Franklin Expedition at Beechey Island in the Canadian Arctic. As to what killed him and other members of his party I believed had something to do with lead poisoning from the canning process of their food supply. Had nothing to do with freezing to death. Look it up and see for yourself.

Re: Frozen Alive
Great thread. I've read about this many times, and am drawn to programs about it as well. I'm always fascinated by these pictures, because of the history behind them. I'm a sucker for all of those mummy shows... I've seen a few irl on display in museums and i want to touch them so badly - i know i can't, and i certainly wouldn't, but i'm just so curious.
