At about 4:30pm on July 22, 2017, a Kia Spectra struck a Perodua Myvi from the rear at km 56.8 of Jalan Kuala Kangsar-Gerik in Kampung Air Kala, Lenggong, Perak, Malaysia. The Myvi, travelling from Gerik toward Kuala Kangsar, then collided head-on with an oncoming Proton Exora. Wong Mee Lai, 47, Foke Yoke Wah, 25, and Woke Mei Yong, 44, died at the scene, while Wong Mei Chan, 56, died early the following morning in Taiping Hospital. The Myvi driver suffered serious injuries. A couple in the Exora were injured, but their three young sons escaped, including a baby who was on his mother's lap. The Spectra driver and a passenger were detained. Reports said the women who died were not related.

IPOH: Three women were killed,
while four other people – including a 7-month-old baby – were injured in a three-car collision in Gerik yesterday.

The deceased, who were passengers of a Perodua Myvi, were identified as Wong Mee Lai, 47, Foke Yoke Wah, 25 and Woke Mei Yong, 44, all from Perak.

The 4.30pm accident at Kampung Air Kala in Selat Pagar occurred when the Myvi, which was travelling from Gerik to Kuala Kangsar, was rear-ended by a Kia Spectra, causing it to veer into the opposite lane and collide with an oncoming Proton Exora.

Exora passenger Roslina Othman was seriously injured in the crash, but her baby, Muhammad Danial Mirza Saiful Haslim, who was seated on her lap, only sustained minor injuries.

Roslina’s husband and the couple’s two other children were unhurt in the collision.

The Myvi driver, Chong Yah Wen, 23, sustained head and body injuries, while a fourth passenger, Wong Mei Chan, suffered minor injuries.

Gerik police chief Supt Ismail Che Isa said a post-mortem on the deceased was held at the Gerik Hospital, while the Kia Spectra driver and a passenger were detained to facilitate investigations.

So sad! I have to say though, women are the worst drivers hands-down. BUT, female Asian drivers are the very very worst of them all! My second ex-wife is Korean so I personally knows this and she agreed!
