Fourteen people were killed when armed men opened fire at the Forro do Gago dance hall and on nearby streets in the Cajazeiras neighborhood of Fortaleza, Brazil, shortly after midnight on January 27, 2018. The attackers arrived in vehicles, fired indiscriminately at the crowd and pursued victims outside the venue. They also threw a grenade that failed to detonate. Eight of those killed were women or girls, and the victims ranged in age from 15 to 55. Fifteen other people were wounded, including a child.

Prosecutors said the attack arose from a territorial dispute over drug trafficking and accused members of the Guardioes do Estado faction of targeting territory controlled by the rival Comando Vermelho faction. Fifteen people were charged, while two adolescents were referred for juvenile measures. In May 2025, Ednardo dos Santos Lima was convicted of 14 homicides, 15 attempted homicides and participation in a criminal organization. He was sentenced to 790 years and four months in prison.

all the victims were inocentes people, just people taking a walk, buying some hot dogs in front the night club ....Like this guy, caught on the shotting while working on his hot dog car, and the people around him also ended up killed...only one of the victim had connection with drug gangs
