Forbidden Love
At around 10.30am on 12th April 2016, Marianna Bautista + Yuliana LS, both 13 years old, were found hanging from a tree in a courtyard of a university in Jiquilpan, Michoacán. Apparently the girls left suicide notes. They had disappeared on Sunday 9th April. The girls had been close friends for years. One of the girls had already told a close relative of her desire to take her own life due to possible family problems. It's said that the girls were in a relationship together, which their parents did not agree with. |

Re: Forbidden Love
Sad that they couldnt see it thru and stick it to everyone who disagreed with their relationship. I suppose its a big fuck you to everyone though and at least they have exited this world and in a sense have won because the rest of us assholes still have to go thru death while living for fuck knows how long on this shitty earth |

Re: Forbidden Love
Such beautiful girls. Sad they couldn’t see that life had a lot more to offer them if they just persevered. |

Re: Forbidden Love
I understand and sympathize with your comments. Yet in spite of all my philosophical training and years of university teaching, as I get closer to the end (and I am up there in years) I can't avoid the thought: "What if the theists are right after all?" and what that would bode for one's "exit" from this life. Can even the most militant of atheists quite avoid entertaining these kinds of thoughts at some time or another? The bottom line is that nobody can achieve absolute certainty on this ultimate question no matter how militant their beliefs at some stages of life.

Re: Forbidden Love
"Can even the most militant of atheists quite avoid entertaining these kinds of thoughts at some time or another?" Well, never has this militant atheist entertained such thoughts. And I seriously doubt that any of the many atheists that I know, militant or otherwise, have ever entertained such idiocy, either. Too, one needn't be an atheist to know that the condemnation of gay people for their being gay is utterly unjustifed. But let us suppose for a moment that there is indeed a "god," and that that "god" really does have a problem with gay people. In which case I say - fuck "god" in its ear holes! For there is no logical reason whatsoever that homosexuality should ever be regarded as something of an antisocial nature. In a world filled with hatred, much of it of a religious nature, love and kindness must always be welcomed irresepctive of sexuality. Yeah, piss all over "god" - all of the many of them! |
