A day after a Haryana minister was booked on charges of abetting suicide of a former airhostess, former deputy chief minister Chander Mohan has come under cloud after his former wife Anuradha Bali alias Fiza Mohammad was found dead in her apartment in Mohali, near here.

The police have not yet ascertained the cause of her death, though her body of 39-year-old was found decomposed on a bed in her house making the police believe that she might have died four to five days back.

The police opened the house after neighbours reported foul smell coming from there. A liquor bottle and a pack of cigarettes was found near her body, a police officer said.

Bali, the former assistant advocate general of Haryana, hogged limelight after her marriage with Chander Mohan a few years back in 2008 when he was the deputy chief minister. However, after his controversial marriage, Chander Mohan was disowned by his father and former chief minister Bhajan Lal.

Having remained incommunicado for several days, the couple had resurfaced after embracing Islam and Bali assuming new identity of Fiza and Chander Mohan as Chand Mohammed.
Relations later soured between the two and Fiza had attempted suicide last year. Sources said that she was planning to join BSP.
Chander Mohan had recently buried his differences with his younger brother Kuldeep Bishnoi and joined the HJC headed by the latter.

Fiza and Chand’s nikaah was solemnised by a maulvi (Muslim priest) in Meerut in November, 2008. The marriage lasted hardly 40 days.

Fiza had often feared threat to her life after she broke off with Kuldeep Bishnoi. Later she floated Fiza-e-Hind, an NGO, Recently, Fiza underwent a jail-term for her alleged involvement in an assault on children in the neighborhood.
