Re: The First Victim of Terrorist Attack on the Nord-Ost Moscow
Great work and photos! This event is significant for me because it happened only 3 city blocks from my apartment, although I was in the US at the time. We finally sold that apartment just this year, but ever since the time it happened, I would walk by this site every two years or so. Both the initial attack and the rescue efforts by LEO resulted in tragic loss of innocent lives - 170 in total. The 15th anniversary commemoration will be in two days (English language link). Memorial on the site: |

Some might object to my characterization of the law enforcement response to the attack, as a "rescue attempt" |

Re: The First Victim of Terrorist Attack on the Nord-Ost Moscow
This girl was not a hostage initially. She lived nearby and after listening TV news about islamistic attack she dressed up, run there and started to shout on terrorists. After the shouted to the hostages "dont be afraid", muslims told her "we will now shot you" - "OK, shot me" And this is how story ends |
