It's not the best way to get fingerprints from any decedent, it's a way to get fingerprints off drowning victims particularly. one they pull off the skin & dry it a little, the prints become visible again.

My cousin worked for the US Post Office during WW2 and one of his jobs was to make sure veterans got their checks. Some lived in Mexico (cheaper?) For years they had sent checks to this dude who couldn't sign his check for a service related injury. They had given him permission to use his thumb print for a signature. Somehow someone had checked up and found that his kin had cut off the thumbs after his death no one knew how long they had been signing his checks!! Glad Mexico is on our side! 8 ) |
