Don't know how else to describe it.

Thai medical team cleaning some graves, they got this tradition from chinese people.
They'll dig dead bodies up and separate bones from other parts then the monks will do the blessing.

The work can take all day so they stopped to have lunch.

These people work with corpses all the time, they're like emergency staffs, so they got used to it.

This is a Buddhist ritual called "Lang Pa Cha" meaning to clean up the dead forest. It is done when the cemetery run out of burial space. The unclaimed bodies are dig up. The flesh are removed and the bones are cremated. This is done by volunteers (usually emergency response personal or medical staff.) Part of this practice is to honor the dead with cremation. It's also considered good deeds for the volunteers that participated.

Why do the people holding up corpses and such always grin when doing it? It's absurd. There was the chick with the dead dog and the peeps at Guantanamo Bay, and some russian cops at a criminal's corpse.
