Re: Female Shot in the Side, Dead in Her Home
When I first looked at the gun, I thought it was a flare pistol. On closer exam it's actually some kind of handmade single shot, break open, 12 or 20 gauge handgun. It looks rather well made and by someone that knew what he was doing, maybe limited production from a local gun smith. But if that was buckshot from a seven or eight inch barrel it's going to cause extreme damage at close to contact range. I've never seen or heard of a handgun like that one. Very interesting post. It's really odd that the bad guy left it at the scene. Don't forget, shotguns of any kind, don't leave any relevant rifling marks, just case marks and firing pin marks...that's why it's weird that he/she left the gun. |

Re: Female Shot in the Side, Dead in Her Home
Very popular in Thailand, though most are much more crude. Still very effective and cheap to make. The ones I've seen up close were all 12ga., and thankfully NOT pointed in my direction. The owners were quite proud of them. The example shown, as mentioned, looks a lot better made with its 1911ish frame. Wondering if it's from the PI???
