Guatemala.
Young woman who was an avid and well-known member of the local amateur racing club wiped out on the highway this week, less than a month after purchasing a new bike. Her family reported that she had been selling lingerie and swimsuits for months in order to save up the money for the new bike, which would allow for a substantial speed increase over her older one.

The reports of what exactly led to her death are nebulous. She was on the highway traveling in a loose 'pack' with several other club members when she lost control of the bike and went into a skid. She was reported dead at the scene due to multiple instances of blunt trauma. No other vehicles were involved in her crash.

The bike itself was barely damaged. The photos are a bit obscure, with no close up really detailed images of her body, so I can't tell exactly what injuries she sustained or if most were internal. There is some obvious blood staining on the road to the right of her body, though not a lot. There is also a trail of different liquid (clearly not blood) leading away from the left of her body, but it may not even be related. I don't really see any blood on her clothing and very little around the body to explain her death at the scene, though internal injuries can certainly be catastrophic.

I tried to get the best images I could, though most are censored or watermarked at the source. One of them has a big circle drawn around her backside, while another censors her backside entirely. No idea what they journalists are up to there.

Pants pisser? - there seems to be a whole "pants pissing" subculture on Documenting Reality.

That's a shame. Motorcycle riders know what can happen and some find out. Both wet spots look like slide marks to me but without a photo of a larger scene it is hard to tell how they relate. Good write up Ved.

The severe change in lateral momentum plus the trauma of her helmet being torn off likely caused atlanto-occipital dislocation and instant death.

Maybe. I can't tell. Guess she could be wet; it wouldn't be uncommon in the sudden death trauma associated with a cycle crash.

The rojas papers frequently censor postmortem urine voids, so that wouldn't be surprising. Fucking weird that another one would specifically circle it to call attention to the fact, though. That's pretty unusual. I was a bit puzzled by the whole damned thing with the circle and the blur.
