There is no way to get hanged on this kind of tree.....
The rope is used to help the guy to climb on it, probably he fell down when he was on the top of it,,,,,,,,,,People in northeastern Brazil used to teach the tourists how to get some coconuts from the tree

I just did a little research online and, like Kelly said, there are various rituals, particularly with Hindus, that involve milk.
