I got it now. See that trash in the pail in first photo? I think he was just throwing the garbage down and forgot which was the garbage and thought it was himself he was supposed to throw down.

There's a bowl under the sink and a square cut in the drywall near it. He probably had a pet rat.

I don't think he jumped on purpose. Who's gonna feed his rat?
