The discovery was only possible with the detention of "Zeca", 53, after being in a fight with his wife's brother, where both ended up with machete injuries.

After the fight, the other man told the police that "Zeca" had just killed a man twenty days before, a wanderer that was begging for food and place to sleep. "Zeca" confirmed this later.

The murderer was taken by the police to show where he had hidden the dead body. He said he killed him because after feeding him, and giving him where to sleep, the victim assaulted "Zeca", so he defended himself with machete blows to the victims head and neck. After killing him he thrown the body to a whole from where he collected the clay to build a house. He then covered the hole with dirt.

Twenty days after the crime, the body was already in an advanced decomposition state. The murderer, "Zeca", 53, is a suspect of another two murders, but he only confessed killing a cowboy in 1984, whom he killed by stabbing with a knife. He served 9 years at that time.

The body of the uncovered man is yet to be identified. It is a white male, strong hair, around 45, he was wearing white shorts and a green shirt.
