The Chinese couple told the police that they abandoned the body of the victim who suddenly suffered a seizure while receiving treatment at their hospital and died.

The victim reportedly received an intravenous serum injection at the hospital after entering Cambodia.

Fox News in the US previously reported that the body was found with a broken neck and bruises on the body.

The local Cambodian police responded, "There was no underwear on the upper body, and the underwear on the lower body was also worn backwards. We suspect sexual assault."

A Chinese man whom the South Korean reporters met at the prison claimed, "The victim asked me to give her an injection, but I did not give her an injection. There were already injection marks on her body before that," and "She just fell asleep because I did not give her an injection. Later, I found her foaming at the mouth and unconscious, so I gave her CPR and oxygen, but she died."

The Chinese man also added, "I admit to abandoning the body. I was scared and had no money," and "It's only natural to be punished for abandoning the body. But my wife is innocent."

On the other hand, a South Korean expert pointed out that the CCTV footage shows that the Chinese woman cannot be said to have been unaware of the victim's situation.

The expert pointed out that the fact that the Chinese chose to abandon the body means that there was a problem that requires more responsibility.

Meanwhile, Cambodian prosecutors have indicted the Chinese couple on charges of "murder combined with torture."
