I'm just an average street Cop, ex Army guy, but I'd say this was most likely a shotgun, I'm gonna say not 00 or 000 buckshot, becuase of the way it looks like mush inside, I'm gonna say slug, or maybe birdshot (buck would look more like multiple small caliber pistol shots) And as for the two wounds-when the wad leaves the shell its velocity is initially the same as the projectile, and may very well have exited the body. It only takes about 500 feet per second to puncture flesh, and with a 12 Gauge we're talking 1300 FPS at the muzzle. Just my two cents

At least he finally achieved a success. Too bad he didn't get to stick around to enjoy it. Wait a minute- then it wouldn't have been successful. A conundrum.
