Re: Exhumed After 23 Years For Identification

I was hoping to see the body.
Me too. But, it's an exhumation in America. I have yet to see a real picture of the body from here in the states. Billthegravedigger is the only credible person I have seen on here that has disinterred bodies and he hasn't shown pics of the bodies. Frankly, I don't blame him since it is not worth losing your job over. I wouldn't expect the folks in Washington to be any different.

Re: Exhumed After 23 Years For Identification

Lots to explore here, first being why is the fire department opening her casket?
Agreed. I wondered the same thing. Especially, why are they cutting the casket open? Was there no vault? It would be interesting to get the perspective from someone in the industry such as Billthegravedigger

Re: Exhumed After 23 Years For Identification

I was also hoping to see the body. Apparently they had a hard time opening the casket, because the edges are all bent in one picture, and they are using a chop saw to get it open.
Unusual that they spent that much for a nice casket. Usually unidentified individuals are buried in a cheap wooden casket, or even just a cardboard one.
Also, there is a guy videotaping the opening of the casket, I assume that is to establish the "chain of custody/evidence". But it also means there is a video tape available. Would like to see it.
They are getting really good at the facial reconstruction. They found a murdered 15 year old girl here in the mountains, did a facial reconstruction from the skull, and when she was finally identified as a runaway teenager from Canada, the picture the family provided was in the paper with the reconstruction photo, and it was perfect. Quite amazing.

What a brutal accident
I'm very surprised they didn't cremate her remains to begin with

No, you shut the fuck off. He has a point. Shouldn't this thread be in the water cooler section instead of Death Picture, since it doesn't have a picture of a body?
