I think he splashed corrosive liquid on her face at some point during the attack. You can see how it burnt holes just to the left of her nose.

nope those arent burns just where she was tryna breathe out her nose while she was hemorrhaging profusely at the same time. the air bubbles popped and dried on top of the blood which had already coagulated so it looks like holes in a way, and this looks so sad cuz she obviously suffered :(
