Re: Ex Husband Kills Ex Wife's Husband Before Blowing His Own Brains Over the Wall
its a common local made illegal pistol that breaks open in the middle and load/fires shotgun shells. but if you aim to get of those, you better load your own shells because the standard powder load of shells will break your wrist on recoil.

i fired one once before with a minimized powder load. pellets spread wide in just a distance of 3 feet. can hit a group of five or six in one shot at a 3 foot distance

Re: Ex Husband Kills Ex Wife's Husband Before Blowing His Own Brains Over the Wall
and we also have "sumpak" gun which is only two sections of 3/4" and 1" diameter water pipes. the smaller one holds the shell while the larger one holds the firing pin . slip the larger one over the smaller one, twist as bit to lock the bigger to the smaller, the firing pin is a small piece of solid metal that is pulled behind the bigger one, locks with another piece just within the hand hold. press and boom.

Couldn't afford the bullets, nor the shootgun. So he placed the shell on his forehead and tapped the shell with the pistol butt. |

Re: Ex Husband Kills Ex Wife's Husband Before Blowing His Own Brains Over the Wall
Typically, a stock frame or slide would fracture with the powder charge of a 12 ga. 2.75" shell (17-22 grains of powder) versus a .45ACP cartridge (5-9.5 grains of powder). There have been upgraded frames which can handle the extra powder charge of a .50AE, .500S&W round, or .410 ga shell. IMO, I'd rather not be the one pulling the trigger on a stock frame loaded with a 12 ga. shell. BUT it does look like he opened his melon with a lot of force beyond what a typical .45ACP would inflict. |

Re: Ex Husband Kills Ex Wife's Husband Before Blowing His Own Brains Over the Wall
After looking at the pistol, I noticed the end of the barrel/slide is circular rather than rectangular as a normal 1911 would be. Thus, it does look like he has a modified 1911 (in alignment with earlier posters).
