Interesting case here; took the Brazilian authorities about three months to figure it out.

Seems that an ex-police official took his wife out into the woods, handcuffed her, and beat the shit out of her (according to his brother, who finally caved under pressure) for over 15 minutes. Eventually she died under the barrage of blows and the autopsy revealed a severely fractured skull and jaw, several broken ribs, and two broken wrists from struggling in the handcuffs.

The ex-cop and his brother then staged the scene to look like an auto accident. They smashed the window of her car from the inside, banged it up a bit, and then dumped her several yards away to make it appear as though she died from flying through the window.

In any case, the brother eventually caved as evidence mounted against them and now they're both up on charges.
