They can easily live on Social Security benefits, and have some cheap fun sometimes at the bar. But there is no free SS Medicare like I have here in California, and when they have a medical problem like all of us do as we get older, there is no family or friend networks around to help. So these guys waste away in the cheap bungalow or hotel room, and eventually die alone in their sleep. Or they just jump, like this one. Flying home can be nearly impossible as the airlines wont fly a really sick person, and none of these guys have medivac private transport insurance to get home when things are bad. A sad end, but maybe not so bad if the hooker last night was good enough! |
