Re: Electrocution Death
While we're sharing electrocution stories. I've had a few 240v mains shocks, but the cream was really that time I managed to get a belt whilst doing the electrical connection on my 4kw Solar PV roof system. Luckily for me, it was 4pm, so the sun was a little less intense, hence the panels were not up to their maximum efficiency. I also brushed the offending cable with the back of my hand, had it been the palm, the DC current would have probably caused me to grab the cable and burn slowly to death, which as I was home alone at the time, would have been a horrific discovery when my Wife returned. It's one of those moments that has stuck with me since and makes be grateful to be alive. I don't think I'd choose it as a way to off myself if that were my goal, seems to painful and with the potential of being prolonged. |

Re: Electrocution Death
Ok, I got one. When I was little, maybe 5?, I wanted to play with a Lite-Brite. One of the old school ones which needed plugging into the wall. Just so happens, hanging on the wall over the outlet was a cuckoo clock which had long, fine chains dangling from the bottom (it was how the clock was wound, pulling the chains wound up the weights which ran the clock). Being a stupid little kid, I plugged those suckers right into the outlet with the Lite-Brite plug. Next think I remember is finding myself knocked about 3 feet from the plug with my finger tips burnt to hell. I don't know who was scared more, me or my mom. |

Re: Electrocution Death
In my younger and stupider days, I took a Hilti to the wall of my friend's apartment and hit the main supply cable into the house. That's a 100 amp service entrance. Thankfully Hiltis are made for dumbfucks like me and all that happened was an intense flash of light and the Hilti tip glowed red and deformed. Also we had to call the electrician to repair the mess I made. Moral of the story, when you need a professional, hire a professional.
