Probably wasn't too hard to catch him. After he killed that cashier lady, he and a man he was doing some work with were talking & the man stated she was missing and Ed said "she's not missing, she's up at the farm right now" but the guy didn't know what he was talking about and just shrugged it off XD XD XD

When I was a little kid growing up in Wisconsin, the older kids scared us little guys silly with stories of how Ed Gein would come and get us if we weren't good.

Ed Gein was a sick fuck. I highly recommend the movie Deranged for those interested in a realistic portrayal of mr Gein.

Wolfie and a few of the rest of you are correct.
Ed Gein was a screwed up man.
However if you dig deeper in to his case it is easy to see how he ended up the way he did .
He was raised by a control freak of a mother who was crazy her self to start with .
Remeber boys and girls Children are the products of the enviroments they are raised in.
Crazy is as Crazy does.

Ed Gein's story is so interesting. All of the crimes, the backstory and such, really awesome documentaries out there.
