Re: Duterte's Wrath

Hail Rodrigo Duterte, President of the Philippines
there are areas of the metro manila that are now much safer and cleaner than they were before mr deturte came to power

the amount of drug dealing on the streets has diminished and the innocent residents now feel much safer

Re: Duterte's Wrath

We're missing a lesson here.

Can you guess what it is?

Death is permanent and you can't deal drugs or hurt others when you're dead! Only problem here is you need to keep killing.
That does not seem to be a problem at all for
Duterte.

And there are undoubtedly less of them too. How much easier this makes it to settle a score with your neighbor. Just kill him and leave him on the street with a sign around his neck saying "Drug Dealer".

the locals and ex pats who still have family there don't seem to have any problems with it

if the president is ordering the executions, wouldn't the president know if an execution was ordered by him or not????

Based on the scale of the activity it is hardly credible that each execution is personally ordered by Duterte. Maybe some of the big time dealers, but certainly not the ordinary run of the street hawker/users. He sets the policy in motion, but must rely on subordinates for the specific targeting. This gets the bureaucracy involved, and we all know how efficient government bureaucracies are. I don't know whom you presume to speak for, but my wife has extensive family back in the PI and they are very much concerned over the whole business.

Re: Duterte's Wrath

unfortunately duterte is a few decades too late to be able to fix everything

every country needed a duterte like leader decades ago - unfortunately all the world has had for too long is candy assed try hard politicians who are more interested in lining their own pockets than looking after the innocent civilians of their country

it is funny that so many western world people are negative about mr duterte, but i don't know any filipinos who do not support him
I could introduce you to quite a few.

Re: Duterte's Wrath

7000 + alleged drug dealers or pushers. Of course there are no arrests, no charges, no court case, just one person decides to snuff another out.

Old grudges, arguments, debts, all settled easily, with no investigation. Just shoot someone and say “drug lord” and it is all over.

The country is going backwards, only the ignorant and the brain dead think this is a good thing.

i am sure you could, but with my house being predominately filipino, as well as our social life

plus many facebook friends, i could introduce you to many, many more than just a few that like him

but then again, they are not criminals; they are just honest hard working people who expect to be protected from scum by their government
