Re: Druggie Feeds Face to Pet Dog
Okay I've posted the story to this each and every time this was reposted so you chumps better listen. The guy's name was Michael, he lived in the Bronx. While on PCP he started to undress in a woman's residence in their apartment building, and the landlord sent him to the basement complex. There, he smashed a mirror and peeled off his face, feeding the pieces to a German shepherd and her two pups. When authorities arrived, he said something like "the dogs did it" and passed out. He went braindead at the hospital. They pumped the dogs' stomachs and got his face back, but the pieces weren't suitable for grafting, so they gave him a pectoral flap operation. Vernon J. Geberth covers the story in his book Practical Homicide Investigation. |

Re: Druggie Feeds Face to Pet Dog
The scene in Hannibal was inspired by this case. In the "Sources" section in the paperback of Hannibal, the author acknowledges Practical Homicide Investigation as a source for "details of Verger's disfigurement." |

Yes, the scene in Hannibal was mostly lifted from this police case. In the Sources section in the paperback of Hannibal, Thomas Harris acknowledges Practical Homicide Investigation as a source for "details of Verger's disfigurement." |
