How is that even possible!!?!?!
IMO, the machete sliced his hand in a direction from the carpal bones out towards the phalanges. The arc of the knife itself prevented the blade from completing the cut.
I'm guessing the coup de grace was the severing of the brain stem/spinal cord up near C1?
