Drowned Teenager
This poor lad was only 13 years of age. According to information from the victim's father, the young man was in the company of a teenaged uncle, 16 years of age, when the two young men tried to swim across the pond at around 3pm when the 13 year old sank. His uncle got out of the water and rushed to get help. The staff of the Fire Department of Santa Cruz were on the scene, but were waiting for another team to come from Recife with divers to begin their search for the body of the young. The weir had accumulated plenty of water with the rains from earlier this week. A team of divers from the Fire Department arrived on the scene already dusk and the body was only recovered from the water at around 8pm.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |
