Re: Dominican Republic - Man Found Dead After He Attacked His Ex with a Machete
She likely survived through an emergent craniotomy and intracranial pressure monitoring. Skull fractures and hemorrhage can all cause brain damage, but not all brain damage is fatal. As pressure increases in the brain, it eventually herniates down onto the brainstem which controls vital functions such as your heart rate and breathing. Clearly, she got immediate help and was fortunate to not have that happen. She likely received prophylactic antibiotics as soon as she arrived to the hospital. Infection is a huge concern but the least of their immediate worries. |
