Dominican Republic - Cop Kills Renowned Architect
According to the National Police, an off-duty corporal killed architect L.R. on Saturday night in the vicinity of Boca Chica. According to a preliminary report, Corporal Janli Disla Batista, 30 years old, was traveling with his wife and children on a motorcycle when around 7:30 pm, he was hit in the back by L.R., who was driving a white Mercedes Benz GLE 450. The document says that Disla’s family was left lying on the pavement while the architect did not stop on the spot, so the agent enlisted the help of another person to pursue the vehicle. Disla and his companion caught up with the architect in the vicinity of Duarte Street in Boca Chica, and it was there where he stopped her, knocking several times on the driver’s side window with his service weapon. This document indicates that the corporal had not “realized” that his weapon was off-safety, and “under these circumstances he fired the shot that caused the death of the architect.” The daughter of the occisa L.R. narrated her version of the events that led to the death of her mother at the hands, apparently, of an agent of the National Police. Pastor Marcos Yaroide offered the version of what happened after the daughter of the deceased told him the details of the event. According to the pastor, just a few minutes after L.R. left with her daughter from the Nautical Club, in Boca Chica, aboard his jeep, she was hit in the back by an engine and "they did not see anyone ”. Next action, the pastor said that the adolescent asked her mother “what had happened? to which she replied that they had been hit from behind her, denying the version of an alleged impact caused by the woman. "Leslie told her daughter, the person who hit us is chasing us, so the girl began to despair and tell her to hit it quickly and call 911, and to get scared saying that they are robbers," said the pastor. But after a chase, which he said took several minutes, the two women were scared when apparently Janli Disla, accused of killing Rosado, fired. "They felt several shots from the back, at least three or four shots." After feeling the bullet impacts and reaching a traffic light, the vehicle where they were being transported stopped and they found a National Police truck, which, supposedly, did nothing to prevent the event. "The girl testified to us that in the presence of the police the boy broke the glass on her mother's side and then shot her to death," Yaroide said. The pastor offered statements upon his arrival at the funeral home where the remains of the architect are being watched. "The hypothesis we have is that it looked like a robbery because when he broke the glass and shot her, he threw a bad word and said, wao, I killed her, and the other said you were kidding, you killed her," the pastor testified that He told what the daughter of the deceased who witnessed the attack saw. |

Re: Dominican Republic - Cop Kills Renowned Architect
Surveillance video showed the woman, who was pregnant, driving her white Mercedes Benz SUV with D. B. and another individual he had flagged down chasing after her. A truck, which appears to be part of the police fleet, is also seeing trailing them. A witness, who remained anonymous, told Dominican newspaper Diario Libre, that D.B. furiously approached R's vehicle and started punching it before he stepped up to the driver's side window and opened fire, striking her in the head. 'When the policeman shoots and breaks the window of the jeep, which was dark (tinted), he realizes that it was a woman, he took her out on his arms and got on a motorcycle and took her to the municipal hospital,' the witness said. |
