It seems like the prosecutor treats the case as "un feminicidio íntimo", which would mean that the victim and the responsible for her dead had a relationship.

This is heavily denied by her father, who is himself a lawyer (even a respected one, according to the newsstory), on behalf of the family. He admits that they knew each other from Facebook, but that the accused just asked for a legal consultation.

Given the image of the two together (shown again in this new article), my bet is with the prosecutors version.

Added: An earlier follow up on the same site, says that the autopsy revealed that she was shot four times after being raped by several men.
